Upcycling, also known as creative reuse, is the process of transforming waste materials, unwanted products, or by-products into new materials or products of higher quality or environmental value. This practice is distinct from recycling, where the material is broken down to its raw form and then reformed into a new product. Upcycling often retains the material in its current state but repurposes it in a way that adds value.
IRAA has introduced upcycled products for corporate gifting which will encourage a culture towards sustainable lifestyle. These articles are made from fresh but surplus fabric or other materials which otherwise would have gone to the landfill. Considering the SDG17 goals to be achieved by each organisation, Sustainable Gifting will facilitate a switch towards an environmentally responsible workplace.
